How to Effectively Manage your Facebook Business Page

Navigating the streets of Facebook can be a bit scary and overwhelming as a Business Owner. Today, I'd like to share a few nuggets with you on how to effectively manage your Facebook Page.  Hopefully you will find value in the information provided.

There's always something new to learn about navigating and managing Facebook Pages.  I know. I know.  We can all learn a thing or two or three from one another as we share what we learn along the way.  Time is a valuable commodity.  With that being said, as a Business Owner, one of the most important things we can do for ourselves, our families and our businesses is to utilize our time wisely.  Work smarter, not harder remember?

1.  Use A Scheduling Tool

While there is a scheduling tool directly in Facebook that allows you to schedule both to Facebook and IG, there are various other scheduling tools out there that allow you to schedule across your other social media platforms in addition to Facebook and IG.  In business time is money and the more time we can save in our businesses the better.  Investing in a scheduling tool allows you to plan your schedule as well as monitor and engage on your Facebook Page regularly.

2.  Establish A Plan

Establishing a plan that is (1) effective and (2) aligned with your niche as well as your goals will ensure that you’re working hard to effectively manage your Facebook Page.

There are many theories out there about what percentage formula should be used for when posting to Facebook.

  • The 80/20 Rule states that  80% of social media posts should be useful to your audience — meaning, it educates, entertains, or offers a solution to their problems — and only 20% should explicitly promote your business.
  • The 60/30/10 Rule states that 60% of the posts you create should be engaging content that gets people reacting, commenting and sharing, 30% should be shared content, and 10% should be promoting your products & services, sales, events, etc.

3.  Post with Objectives in Mind

When you’re posting and scheduling updates for your Facebook Page, you should always keep in mind what your objectives are. Some objectives that the average Facebook Page may have are brand awareness, to get clicks to a website, sell a product or service and gain more exposure for your Facebook Page or Blog.

No matter what you are posting, always keep your objectives in mind when doing so.

4.  Monitor & Engage, Engage, Engage

There is no way around setting aside time as a Business Owner to make yourself present on your Facebook Page.  You have to frequently check in on your Facebook Page throughout the day. You should be monitoring, engaging and censoring, if necessary comments from page visitors.

Having an active Facebook Page will be enormously important in ensuring you achieve your objectives.

There are tons of resources and tools available to help put you on the right path to effectively managing your Facebook Page.  I hope you find value in some of the tips that I have shared with you today.
